Bemidji Area Schools now has a new superintendent. On Monday, Tim Lutz signed off on a three-year employment contract that sets Lutz’s salary at $165,000 this coming fiscal year, and ramps up to $170,000 in the final contract year… the 2020-2021 school year. The contract also calls for 25 vacation days and a $6,500 vehicle allowance annually. Lutz has led Kelliher Public School since 2008. His first official day on the job at Bemidji Area Schools is July 1st.
The Republican Party’s endorsed candidate for North Dakota secretary of state has dropped out of the race following a news report of a 2006 “Peeping Tom” incident on the North Dakota State University campus. Will Gardner announced his departure on Sunday afternoon in a social media post to his campaign’s Facebook page. Gardner beat the GOP incumbent in April.
